Jesus My King Church strives to demonstrate the heart of King Jesus through community outreach and local missions. We have several opportunities to serve those in need and continue to be a source of help and hope to others sharing the love of Jesus.

The Word of God says “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” (Hebrews 13:16 ESV) In heeding the call to minister to others, we have collected toys and clothes for foster children who reside in Laura’s Home group homes. Meals were made and delivered at Christmas. Songs were sung to the children to bring Christmas cheer and share the love of Jesus. The children were appreciative of the visits, gifts and love shown.

We have worked alongside Cleveland County Rescue Mission by partnering on several projects, such as the community food and clothing distribution. Members also arranged tea parties for those staying at the homeless shelter. The residents enjoyed a time of pampering and care and were able to experience a sense of joy as they felt the love of God. A coat drive to collect winter wear this year, will keep many warm this cold winter season.

Monthly visits to an area nursing home provide a time to value the elderly and disabled residents. Many residents will sing along as worship songs are sung. It is a time of blessing for all, as the members leave feeling blessed as well.

A newly stocked food pantry is now available to anyone who needs food or hygiene items. Periodically, individuals will come to the church campus requesting assistance. Along with spiritual guidance and prayer, physical assistance of food and other items can also be provided.

“What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” James 2:14-17 ESV
